BORN TO SHOP

It could possibly be said I was born to shop.  Honestly...and boy can I!

It makes it sound too 'high brow' to say it is a 'calling'.  My boyfriend found his calling as a Marine, making a real difference so that we can sleep safely and have the freedom to shop when and where we want.  So I can't even call me shopping a calling as it doesn't equate to what he does.  Although I know he'd say it's all relative and he loves that I work in fashion.

Whatever I do I can't escape it, it seems I've been drawn to fashion and fashion to me since birth!  So it came as no surprise that after checking into my hotel room on a trip to London this week, I peered out of the window and there it was glowing through the black background like a beacon saying 'come and shop, shop, shop!'

Primark!  This shop always finds me!!  What a perfect hotel location for The Chiconomista I thought and chuckled to myself!  The chatty London cabby had given me a tip-off that the hotel was opposite Pree-mark as he called it.  He assured me it opened at 10am and tried to start a discussion about who owned the retailer and how the site used to be C&A!  Blast from the past, I thought!  I used to love C&A as a kid, it was a popular brand back then and especially in Germany where I spent part of my childhood.  Moving swiftly on, don't tell anyone, remember I was born to shop, so can find something in anywhere to buy or style!

The next morning, I saw this view....

Look closely, in the centre you can see the signage in the daylight!  It wasn't the glowing apparition it was in the night!  Above the 'Primark' blue sign, someone took heed to add in the 'Danger' sign!  How apt!  Oh and the railing, should The Chiconomista decide to clamber out of her bedroom in the night to get ahead of the line!  They must've seen me coming!

I did pop in after my meeting to sneak a peek and bought some fab snake print leggings for £6, bear with me on these!  I think I'm going to have to style them up to convince you!  That's my job though hey!!  Will post separately on these!

and also this cute tee for £6, which I bought a couple of sizes too big so it's slouchy

It says 'London Calling' and has a red telephone box in sequins stitched on, I thought this would be cute to wear in the US in the Summer.  I'm going to team the tee with shorts and wedges or skinny jeans, heels a leather jacket or blazer for an effortless chic look.

The leggings might look nothing on their own or even when you've got them on with no shoes!  Teamed with a chunky knit or long slouchy top and shoe boots with a heel, they look super stylish!  Fashion should be fun too, so sometimes you just have to go with it on a whim and hey it's £6 for some fun, chiconomics if ever I saw it!

For future reference and should you find yourself trotting along to the top of Oxford Street and into Primark, it definitely opens at 8am and had I known I may have just popped in to see this store empty at least as it NEVER is!  On the day it opened, some good PR said that all items would be £1 (this didn't happen, The Chiconomista would have been there I tell you!) which as you can imagine created a stampede and people actually got trampled over!  Now I don't advocate this kind of behaviour, but it seems some others are 'born to shop' too which makes me feel a little better at least!

I like to think I channelled my obsession for fashion, I mean my innate ability for style and fashion positively by spreading some of these to those who didn't.  Feeling good about yourself and how you look has a massive impact on your confidence and even daily life, so fashion is definitely more important than just a fickle world of heel heights and skirt lengths!  A multi-million pound/dollar business, it is not to be sniffed at!  If you're not 'born to shop', then why not drop me a line and let me do the hard work for you?  Shopping and getting dressed doesn't have to be as hard as I know it can be for some, I can guide you what's right and wrong for you, so that your wardrobe works effortlessly whatever the occasion.  Check out my styling website www.styleoursouls.com
