OH PANAMA!

The hat of the summer, are we kissing goodbye to The Fedora and saying hello to The Panama??

With a wider brim, a retro Gatsby-ish vibe and an effortless chic, this summer the Panama hat is big news!  Lightweight and light reflective, it's breezy white color with black ribbon rim is so on-trend, it's as if it was made for 2013!

The actual history of the Panama hat is that it is a traditional wide-brimmed hat of Ecuadorian origin, made of lightweight plaited leaves from as early as the seventeenth century.

Mine is made of 100% paper and merely replicates these honestly beautiful works of art.  100% paper and under $20, it is a cheap and chic, quick and easy way to add some interest to any outfit, try the hat of the season for a stylish summer look, whether you're sporting shorts or a cute summer dress.  The Panama really works with everything.

When there's a new trend in town and you want to just test it out, where else to head than Target?  There it was, the very last Panama on sale on a Saturday morning and for only $16.99 it was on my head and coming home with me before I'd even left the building!  So I sported it in store and tweaked my look as I shopped, a true fashionista moi!

I honestly haven't taken the hat off all day!  It was perfect for a sunny Californian afternoon where the sun starts to beat down on your head and obviously I've worn hats before, but this is the first one that actually shaded my face and cooled me down - with the wider, light weight white fabric - where have you been all my Californian life Panama?

I styled it into my evening outfit and even wore it out for dinner and drinks!  I'm not sure I'm taking this hat off for the rest of the summer!
