6 TRANSITIONAL PIECES FOR YOUR SPRING WARDROBE

Transitional pieces can be the key link from the last season and into the new when it comes to your wardrobe.  Some savvy shopping and some clever outfit building will ensure you feel new season ready, whatever the weather and temperature!

Here are my 6 TRANSITIONAL PIECES FOR YOUR SPRING WARDROBE....

1. FLORAL BLAZER AND/OR KIMONO
2. DISTRESSED BOYFRIEND JEANS
3. LIGHT NUDE BOOTIES
4. STRIPED TEES OR TANKS
5. PATTERNED PONCHO OR CAPE
6. LIGHTWEIGHT BLOUSE

1. FLORAL BLAZER AND/OR KIMONO
Floral print is still big news and always freshens up your look in a summery way.  Try a blazer in floral, so you still have the cover-up but the new season print.  Kimonos are a great alternative to any jacket and are bigger news than ever this season!  Team with skinnies, boyfriend jeans or shorts, roll up in your bag for when the temperatures drop!

Try River Island for a great selection or even your local farmer's market or arts fest often feature fashion trucks selling unique versions!

2. DISTRESSED BOYFRIEND JEANS
The boyfriend jean is holding it's own in the denim trend arena.  The key is loose enough for comfort, but slim enough fit to keep the look feminine and sexy.  A heel will always lift the look or a lower wedge for the daytime.

Try J Brand, Citizens of Humanity or 7 For All Mankind for investment pairs that will fit and feel great!

3. LIGHT NUDE BOOTIES
Know the feeling when a dark neutral shoe suddenly feels too heavy?  If you still need a closed toe and cover up, opt for a lighter colored neural bootie, that will see you through the spring summer months when it's a little chillier out.

Try Jeffrey Campbell, Dolce Vita, Steve Madden or Dune UK for great versions!

4. STRIPED TEES OR TANKS
Stripes work so well with the print clashing trend, so go for it and team with florals or even leopard print to take the look from classic to edgy style in an instant!

5. PATTERNED PONCHO OR CAPE
A lightweight cover-up is a must for the transitional seasonal months and will still keep the chill off your shoulders.  Opt for a blanket style print to add some style and edge to your outfit.

6. LIGHTWEIGHT BLOUSE
Blouses are almost as useful as staple tanks and tees now in your wardrobe.  A white and nude should be your top two priorities, layer under knitwear or over tanks and tees in place of a jacket.  Add a statement necklace or scarf and the look is complete!
